From the Desk of the Principal
We had a great first Mass at BSS today. It is always powerful to see our whole community together in prayer, not to mention our students sang beautifully! A special thank you to the Parent Collaborative who hosted our Mass today. The PC does an amazing job getting volunteer opportunities up and running at BSS, please consider attending one of their meetings or reaching out to their leadership team. Getting involved here at school through volunteering is a great way to enhance your families BSS experience.
Have a great weekend I look forward to seeing everyone at the Block Party tomorrow and Back to School Night next Thursday! Go Pats! (i'm done with the Red Sox it's on to hockey season)
Blessings,
Dustin
Notes from Nancy
The front office is a busy place and I am enjoying my new vantage point of our school community. It has been an exhilarating start to the school year accentuated by the hard work out outside my window during renovations of the courtyard space. We are all looking forward to having the students use it.
We are happy to announce the opening of a weekly after school Learning Center at BSS. The Learning Center will be open every Tuesday and Thursday after school starting next week from 2:45-3:30 in the Room 8B Middle School Theology classroom. Academic support will be provided on alternate days by Mrs.Carroll, Mrs. Arbuckle and Mrs. Feola for any student in grades 4-8 who may need help with study strategies or homework. If you think that your child would be interested in dropping in for some extra help, please email me.
I look forward to seeing many at the Block Party and our Open House on Thursday.
Warm Regards,
Nancy
Pick Up and Drop Off
Just because it doesn't hurt to have these reminders up for one more week. Also thank you for being flexible during the Courtyard construction taking up some of the lot:
- In the drop off line, please do not wait until you get up to the front to get your student(s) out of the car. As long as you are along the sidewalk and your car is stopped please have your student(s) exit the car. This allows the line to move quickly
- Everyone should be crossing at the crosswalk
- At pick up please start each grade level line as close to the sidewalk as possible
- If picking up two students please line up in the row that corresponds to your oldest students grade
