Term 3 Week 3

Kia ora

Our poor Uenuku tamariki have been hit hard by illness this week. Thank you for keeping them at home in the warm while they recover and rebuild their strength. We look forward to seeing everyone when they are rested and well.

As the weather is so changeable at the moment, please remember to make sure that your child has a warm coat/jacket each day and a change of clothes in their bag. Thank you.

Learning this week in Uenuku

This week our learning has centered around the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have used footprints from Jack and the Giant to measure things in the classroom, sequenced the growth of a beanstalk and discussed the similarities and differences between versions of the story. The children have illustrated their favourite part of the story and made puppets to retell the story.

Next week we will be using the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as the starting point for our learning.
