The AP Exam is Almost Here!
Teachers,
After one of the most difficult years for education in the last century, you and your students have persevered and now the AP Exam will be here soon! I'm sure there is some stress and anxiety in regard to your students' success but know that you are making history this year! I applaud you and all of the other teachers in Arkansas for all of your hard work and determination throughout the year.
When I was in the classroom (in a "normal year") I would often lose steam as the AP Exam approached. I got great advice from Penny Smeltzer, AP Statistics guru and exam leader. She told me her success during her review time was to take some of the "fun" activities you didn't have time for throughout the year and use them during your review - I would pair them with free response questions on similar topics. There are a ton of data collection activities for your face to face students on the AR AIMS AP Statistics Google Site. Also, check out the AR AIMS AP Statistics Desmos Collection for great activities for your virtual students!

Register for our new LTF-Infused AIMS Virtual Summer Workshops!
We are revamping our Laying the Foundation workshops this summer! In order to better meet the needs of our Arkansas teachers, we are offering course-based workshops for Grade 6th math through Pre-Calculus. Teachers will work on strategies to better prepare their students for more advanced math classes, using the Laying the Foundation activities provided by the National Math and Science Initiative as well as other resources, assessments, and curriculum pacing that support Arkansas Standards.
The workshop will be held the week of July 19th through 23rd and will include both synchronous and asynchronous learning.

Some Takeaways from the 2021 Virtual Mock Reading
I loved the resources she shared! Her upbeat attitude was very easy to listen to and I wasn't bored. I am going to take a lot of what I learned and apply it to my last 4 weeks this year.
She provided great resources for review that I am excited to use in the coming weeks.
Our Table Leader was very helpful and encouraging. She offered help when we asked for it and encouraged us and our students when they were doing something great!
