AudioNote (Lite) is a note taking and audio recording app. You can type and write notes, highlight, erase, add shapes and arrows. It has a palm rest for easier writing. You can also add images from your Camera Roll and PDFs on which to annotate. What I like about this app is that it syncs up the typing/writing with the audio. Upon playback it highlights the text that is synched with the audio and you can jump to any part of the audio track by tapping on a work or drawing. When finished you can export to Dropbox.com, iCloud or the iPad.
The lite version is free and allows only 10 minutes of audio per note. See Final Thoughts before purchasing the full version.
Uses
- handwritten notes
- meeting notes
- interview notes
- typewritten notes
- annotating articles
- grading papers with audio
- drawing
These are just a few ideas. I'm sure you can come up with even more.
Final Thoughts
This is not my favorite notetaking/audio recording app but I have chosen it because it is free. With the 10 minute limit I can see this app being beneficial for students conducting interviews or short meetings. However, if you want to use it to record more than 10 minutes then I would go with an app called Notability. Notability costs the same as the AudioNotes pro ($4.99) but offers a wider range of tools for the money. Notability combines some of the features that I like in UPad with the audio recording feature in AudioNotes Lite.
