Thoughts for the Week

Dear Unami,

First, I would like to thank everyone for your phenomenal professionalism during the first week of PSSA assessments. I fully recognize that the mandates placed on us causes disruption to our instructional goals. However, it was truly inspiring to see that everyone is willing to compromise, compensate and work together for the good of our 'kids'.

9th Grade Teachers:
Please extend my compliments to the students for their excellent behavior. Despite being displaced and shuffled about with their schedule, they have been respectful and courteous for the benefit of their fellow students. I also heard that they were complimented everywhere they traveled while on their trip to New York.

Finally, I wanted to share how using Skype can bring the world into our classrooms. Below are two clips--one from our own 7th grade students conversing with a curator from the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, the second a quick video on the ways you can bring Skype into your classrooms.

Have a great week!

Unami United,
