Job Description
French language teachers instruct on a variety of topics, from the building blocks of grammar and vocabulary to the concepts of French poetry. The job of the French teacher is to teach the students the background of the language and to become confortable in speaking it.

Education
- You will need a bachelor's degree if you want teach elementary, middle or secondary school.
- Most universities offer teacher education programs, which typically take four years to complete and involve coursework in educational psychology, teaching methods and special education.
- To specialize in French, you will also complete courses in French grammar, literature and history.
- It is also a good idea to study aboard in a country who is fluent in the language you are learning.
- If you have earned a bachelor's degree in French, you may earn a Master of Education.
- If you would like to become a French professor, you'll need to earn a doctorate, which involves roughly 3-4 years of courses, followed by a couple of years researching and writing your dissertation.
