Eastlake High School 1.14.20
Greetings from Eastlake High School
Welcome to 2020 and the second semester of our school year. It's amazing how fast the first semester went! The second semester seems to move at an even faster pace, so let's work on being proactive with the school year and plan ahead. If you have seniors, please make sure that you have checked in with your student about staying on top of senior expectations. We tend to focus on hope and resolutions with each new year. Let's commit to working together to make Eastlake High School an even better place for everyone. Thank you for a great first semester. Here are some big picture items for your consideration:
A. Start of School. We begin the second semester on January 15th. The construction is picking up, so please adjust and plan accordingly. Students will receive their locator cards on this day. All requests for changes will be discussed this day as well. We cannot accommodate all requests, but will do our best to address them in a positive manner.
B. Eastlake Education Foundation - Taste of Eastlake. This event is easily one of my favorite events of all time. Check out the great food and spirits at this year's 80s themed event that includes dancing. Check out this LINK or see the flyer below for more information. We need your support. Remember: All monies collected go back to our schools!
C. Safety! Safety! Safety! Please keep our students safe by dropping them off in appropriate and legal spots around campus. As construction continues for the next few months, adjust your timing and consider other drop-off spots. I know it has been difficult, but safety comes first.
C. Calendar and WAAG. Make sure you click the link below to keep up with all of the great things happening at EHS!
D. Next Coffee with the Principal. I hope to see many of you on February 5th, 2020. We will definitely be focusing on the Titan Foundation concept to create an endowment for our school. We will also give you a sneak preview of new practices and traditions coming to our school.
E. Titan Boot Camp. We heard our students loud and clear about social and emotional support at school. From our last survey, we understand that students need to manage expectations and emotions better. We will have a series of workshops with our students to remind them about the big picture of school and how to access support systems.
F. Office Hours. In order to better serve you, I am going to honor my time with individuals with more organized meeting times. I have kept an open door policy, but have found that parents and community members are not always served to the best of my ability due to my busy schedule. My administrative assistant has blocked out 8:00 - 10:00 AM Monday through Thursday for individual 20-30 minute meetings. I can also be found before school starting at 7:30 for a quick meeting. Of course, emergencies and other issues can dictate for other meeting times. I will do my best to accommodate you. Ms. Campos can be reached at karina.campos@sweetwaterschools.org or 619-397-3815.
Thank you for your support of all things Eastlake High School. If you have a moment, take the time to recognize our staff below! As always, Go Titans!
