2023 Commencement Ceremony
Thanks for all families for making the 139th Commencement Ceremony at Albert Lea High School an amazing success. The Class of 2023 was honored with great weather, speeches and support as they became the newest alumni of ALHS.
Good luck to all graduates as you move into your next phase of life.
New Cell Phone Responsible Use Protocols Coming for 2023-2024
Thank you to all who reached out with ideas about the use of cell phones in the educational setting. The overwhelming agreement was that cell phone use is causing a distraction to students both in and out of the classrooms. Many of you let us know the importance of creating an environment in school where students can learn without the fear of being recorded, receiving a districting message, or simply disengage from learning by listening to music, watching videos, or scrolling through social media.
The administrative team has been researching a variety of strategies that schools have attempted to use with some success and failure. In the return-to-school packet, you will receive a detailed description of what we will do to put strategies in place when school begins. This will be a big change to our daily routine and look forward to working with families to make this plan work effectively.
