7. Public - Agenda/Non-Agenda Items
Concern: Why are we not offering hot lunches?
Answer: When taking into account all data prior to opening in September, a decision had to be made as to how best keep all students/staff safe, and this was the best way to start. The district plans to offer hot lunches beginning in the month of October.
Comment: The district should increase substitute rates in order to attract more candidates. Raise rates and offer an incentive to come here.
Answer: The District has raised rates over the last few years; always possible in the future.
Comment: Why did a bus letter come from Special Services and not Holcomb Bus?
Answer: A full explanation of the bussing situation was given by Mr. Campbell. Special Services currently administers the runs now.
Concern: Why are students carrying home chromebooks?
Answer: All students need access to the chromebooks at home in the event of another closure.
Concern: Question regarding seating and masking at lunches.
Answer: Seating is 3 feet apart and students are allowed to be unmasked during specific events, including lunch.
Question: Will the board be videotaping Board meetings?
Answer: No.
Comment: Some school district applying punitive consequences on classroom teachers if an outbreak occurs in their classroom?
Answer: We do not have a policy to do so, but Dr. Foley stated that she could not make a blanket statement regarding future events if it was determined an issue occurred because a staff member had been negligent or failed to follow the protocols in place.
Question: Are there consequences for mask violations among students?
Answer: If it was determined to be an issue of insubordination, failure to follow directions after being told to correct the mask, then we would follow the discipline code for the infraction.
