SCHOOL NEWS
As of Friday, we have been informed that the DSA has approved the revisions necessary to fix the foundation issue that has delayed the project. During the next few weeks, we should see construction slowly starting up again. In the meantime, we are working with the district to help improve our playground conditions. A contractor will be hired to fix the cracks on the playground and construction fencing will be moved to give a little more playground space.
STUDENT COUNCIL FOOD DRIVE
Hello, Monte Vista families! It's time for our annual food drive! The Student Council is partnering with La Canada Community Center to collect non-perishable food items to help families in need during this holiday season. The bins will be located in the main hallway from November 1-17. Let's share the gift of giving by filling up all three bins!

REMINDERS
MONTY LANE SAFETY:
For our safety plan, we keep track of traffic violations in Monty Lane for 1 week each year.
Here are the counts for this week:
Here are the traffic violations counted:
Jay walking across the street in front of school
Making a u-turn in front of school
Making a u-turn in a neighbor’s driveway
Adults leaving their car during drop off or pick up
Please work to follow our Monty Lane rules to keep all of our children and families safe by remembering to use the cross walks and remembering to not make u-turns in front of school. Thank you for your help and cooperation.
We have a large number of students with food allergies, specifically to nuts and fish. Please help us to keep our students safe by avoiding sending peanut products in your child’s snacks/lunches. Please click on this link for more information.
UPDATED VOLUNTEER PROTOCOLS (NEW)
The district has updated the following protocols:
Individuals who volunteer more than 15 hours per year must receive fingerprint and TB clearance
Parents may either provide verification of COVID vaccination OR proof of negative COVID test within 48 hours of volunteering.
If you wish to volunteer and haven’t obtained your clearance yet, please print, fill out and submit this form to our school office. Volunteers will no longer be able to help in classrooms if these requirements have not been met.
