WBSD Weekly Update
Friday, September 29
Count Day is Wednesday, October 4!
Student attendance on Count Day is critical as it is used by the State of Michigan to determine the amount of funding, per student, our District will receive this year.
Ryan Ridenour, an educator from West Bloomfield High School, delivered a compelling presentation at Oakland Schools' county-wide "Learning in the Age of AI" professional development day. Our dedicated educators are continually embracing innovation!
Powerschool Update for Families
The West Bloomfield School District has moved to an all online Back to School forms process. Each year, families will be required to log into PowerSchool and complete Back to School forms located under the General Forms tab. Currently the deadline for the 2023-2024 school year is September 30, 2023.
Families will be required to do this for each child enrolled in the District. If you do not know your login for PowerSchool, please contact your school for assistance or visit https://www.wbsd.org/parents/powerschool for more information.

Two Remarkable Achievements - Honoring Brandon Davis Swain and Ron Bellamy
WBHS Senior, Brandon Davis Swain has been named an Under Armour All American and received an invite to participate in the Under Armour Next All-American Football Game. Congratulations!
Former WBHS Football Head Coach Ron Bellamy, was honored with induction to the Lakers Coaching Hall of Fame. Coach Bellamy was the head coach for our football team for 11 seasons and guided us to our first football state championship in school history in 2020. He is currently coaching at the University of Michigan.
Digital Ticketing with GoFan
WBSD moved to an efficient digital ticketing service, GoFan, for all home games. We strongly encourage fans and spectators to purchase home game tickets in advance to avoid delays at the gate. Tickets will be for sale at the gate through credit card payment however, we do not recommend utilizing this method as it will cause longer lines at the gate.
Cash will NOT be accepted for ticket sales; families can still use cash to purchase concessions.

Blessings in a Backpack
Attention Parents!
If your child is a student (3 to 26 years of age) in the West Bloomfield School District, they can participate in the 2023-24 Blessings in a Backpack program. The program sends six non-perishable meals home each Friday of the school year. Its goal is to make sure that no child goes hungry on the weekend. Run by volunteers, there is NO cost to you. To enroll in this program, please fill out the form here and return it to your school office or email it to katherinesheiko@hotmail.com. This registers your child/ren in the Blessings program and alerts us to any allergies they might have. The first backpack of food will be distributed to your child at his/her local school the first week of October.
