Balclutha Primary School - T1 Wk 6
Newsletter 12 March 2021
It has been another busy week here at BPS with many wonderful learning opportunities for all our students. A huge congratulations to everyone who competed at the South Otago athletics day on Monday. The BPS team did very very well, with a large number of our students gaining placings.
Next week we will be holding our first round of formal goal setting interviews with parents.
This is an opportunity for teachers, parents and students to discuss how the year has started, share the positives so far, and set learning goals for the term ahead. Thank you to the parents who have booked in appointment times. To enable staff to get through the large number of appointments, school will be closed for instruction at 12:30 on Wednesday next week.
Have a wonderful week,
Ngā mihi nui,

Most of the week for Room 2 has been taken up by swimming. The students' confidence in the water has grown over the week and Mrs Swallow is very proud of all the children who have taken a big step out of their comfort zone and enjoyed themselves in the process.
In maths, Room 2 has been looking at shapes and their features and have been making pictures using different shapes.
Room 3 have been hard at work learning new swimming skills with the instructors and parent helpers. Below are a few of our awesome swimmers at the pool.
Room 5 Ball Bouncing Champions
Room 6 have been doing team work activities earlier this week...
In Room 12 this week we have been working together to develop our writing. We look forward to sharing some of our writing with you soon.
Room 11 students have completed two challenges from the 'Taskmaster' (alias Mrs W). These activities are helping to build team cooperation before we head away on our Bannockburn Camp.
Task One - create a picture of the Taskmaster using only natural materials.
Task Two - one member of your team must balance as many classroom items on their head as possible for at least 5 seconds.
