December 19 - Economics Shopping Day
January 6 - 8:00 MAP Testing (Math)
The media center is seeing a high occurrence of lost and damaged books from students this year. Most often a water bottle leaks in a child's bookbag causing the book to get wet. If a book gets wet, they can't put it back on the shelves because it will mold and mildew and spread to other books on the shelves. The media center is asking parents to put a large ziploc bag in your child's bookbag so that books can be zipped up to keep them safe from water or markers.
Friday is our Winter Workshop Shopping Day. We will begin shopping in Dockside at 9:15. Thank you to all of you who sent in supplies and/or volunteered your time to help with this activity.
There will be no spelling this week.
This week we will continue to work on using context clues to figure out the meaning of unknown words, and will discuss homophones (words that sound the same, but are spelled differently and mean different things). Today we specifically discussed there/their/they're and discussed when to use each one.
We have completed our book reviews and will create shadow puppet projects on the iPads this week. We will also be doing some opinion writing in response to some very interesting Christmas writing prompts.
We will have a chapter test on Chapter 4 this Wednesday. We will review in class tomorrow, and your child will have a review sheet for homework Tuesday night.
There will be an addition fact test this Thursday. Please continue to help your child study for these tests.
We will complete our science unit on magnets this week and will have a quick quiz on Friday.
