Girls Basketball Tryouts
Hey guys! Are you interested in playing for Goff’s basketball team? Have you already tried out? Tryouts were on Tuesday, November 15th, and Thursday, November 17th. At the girls basketball tryouts on Tuesday, November 15th, the girls tried out for the girls basketball team all together. I talked to Abby who told me that her legs were tired after practicing! She said that they had to run around cones, but that she was very excited to tryout for the Girls Basketball Team! They had to do layups and run a lot! The season starts in two weeks, make sure to come and cheer us on!

Student Council and Art Club Updates
Hey! Have you wondered who set up dances or make flyers, STUDENT COUNCIL. We were the one who set up the Goff Spook Off, brought the boxes up to classes for the food drive and make the skit for the red ribbon week contest.
Are you into art? There is also an art club. We compete in contests, make posters, paint, free draw, and have a good time. There is so much to do there! You can also color and learn new drawing techniques.
What's Good to Read? Book Recommendation
Hello everybody! Interviewer Tarsha here, and I have another book recommendation for you!
This weeks book recommendation is “The Maze Runner” Series. Goff library has all 3 books, and a prequel to the next series. These books are “The Maze Runner”, “The Scorch Trials”, “The Death Cure”, and the prequel is “The Kill Order.” Visit your local library today to read these AWESOME “Maze Runner” series. Check it out, because you don’t wanna miss out!
But guess what, there are MOVIES TOO! All of these 4 books has a movie. But that’s not all! If you haven’t heard earlier, then I’ll tell you now, that The Maze Runner Fever Code movie came out September 27, 2016. From the looks of it, it looks great! A sum-up of all these movies go from the first book, all the way to the 4th book, to the last. Thomas, and his group of friends have gone through troubled times. When their normal teenage lives became un-normal, terror made them have to step-up their games. I won’t spoil the book! READ IT! And trust me, this book will have you at the edge of your seat every time, and don’t forget to check out THE MAZE RUNNER FEVER CODE!!!!!!

Interview of the week! This week, Mr.Hopkins

Alright so this week’s interviewed teacher is Mr. Hopkins! We asked him 4 questions and his answers are below.
1. ) How long have you taught here at Goff?
Mr. Hopkins: This is my third year at Goff Middle School
2.) How long have you been a teacher and what grades and subjects do you teach?
Mr. Hopkins: I have been a teacher for ten years and I have taught all grades 7-12. The subjects I have taught are Geography, Colonial American History, Civics, U.S History I , U.S History II, Sociology, Psychology, World History, World History AP, Senior Internship Program and also several different English as a Second Language Social Studies classes.
3.) What do you like to do outside of school?
Mr. Hopkins: I am a great fan of the outdoors. I love all winter sports, like skiing, and I enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing. I also love to travel anywhere and experience new cultures and places all over the world.
4.) What do you think you'll do after you're done teaching?
Mr. Hopkins: I think at this point in time I would still like work with kids in some way (you keep me young), but perhaps as a tour guide of a historic place or monument.
