Weekly Highlights
- Bulletin Boards (inside and outside) were due 11/12
- PLEASE Nominate your STUDENT of THE WEEK ON THURSDAY
- 4th and 5th Grade Teachers must be at Dismissal at 2:10 in the Big Yard
Announcements:
- ROCKET STORE SCHEDULE: All Classroom teacher, please check Rocket Store Schedule for your class Rocket Store Visit day. Classes scheduled at their lunch times, please bring your Rocket Bucks to lunch.
- ALL Classroom Teachers MUST have their OWN DAILY lesson plans for ALL Content areas: Math, ELA, Guided Reading, 2nd Math Block, Science, Social Studies.
- ALL enrichment teachers MUST have lesson plans for each class they service. All other support staff MUST have lesson plans for students they service. This is part of Danielson Standard 1e- Designing Coherent Instruction
This years instructional focus:
1. Guided Instruction in ELA and Math 2. Analyze Data to Drive Instruction
3. Incorporate technology in instruction
Important Reminders:
- Make sure to check Grade Level Year Scope and Sequence Pacing for beginning/end dates of Units and assessment data due dates.
- Continue to keep an agenda and minutes of grade level meetings. These must be kept in Grade Binder.
- Please be mindful we are co-located. Let's be peaceful, pleasant partners in educating the Soundview Community
- Lunch: K-1: 10:40 a.m / 2-3: 12:25pm / 4-5: 1:20pm
- Morning line up @ 8:00 a.m. All staff to report to post--- K in the Auditorium 1-5: Little Yard
- Period 7 ends at 2:10pm--- 2:10-2:20pm Dismissal
- End of day dismissal @ 2:10 p.m.- 2:20pm --- All staff to report to post. For Grades 1-5 is outside in the little yard. K is in the Auditorium. For students safety we must continue to supervise dismissal.
Monday 11/16 --- Day: ELA, Math, Guided Reading, Writing, Science
- PICTURE DAY!!
- Monday PD 2:20pm - 3:40pm --- Grades 3-5 Topic: Looking at Data to drive instruction Rm: 428 / Grades K-2 Teachers & Ms. Moroe, Mr. Rivera, Ms. Johnson Topic: Guided Reading Room 211

- LitLife Focus: Modeling Guided Reading : Schedule: Room 305 @ 12:30pm / Room 313 @ 1:00pm/ Room 415 @ 1:30pm (PLEASE SCHEDULE YOUR GUIDED READING AT THE TIMES INDICATED IN THE SCHEDULE ABOVE FOR TODAY)

- Parent Engagement: Kindergarten : Letter Sound Recognition Workshop
- Teacher Inquiry Time--- Looking at Student Data:Math Assessments MOSL

Thursday 11/19---- Day: ELA, Math, Guided Reading, 2nd Math Block, Social Studies

- Guided Math: Grades 3-5: Reteach/small groups on deficient math areas based on data/ K-2 math centers/small group based on math data
Friday 11/20--Day: ELA, Math, Student Binders, 2nd Math Block, Social Studies
- Student of the Week Announced at Morning Line Up
- Guided Math: Word Problem Solving--- USE CUBES--- Grades 3-5/ Grades K-2 --- Math centers/reteach based on data
- Student Conferences (9am Grades 2,3,4,5/ 11:35am Kinder, 1st Grade): Schedule 6-8 student conferences to discuss goals, data and next steps in Reading and Math. Review student portfolios, monthly parent communication letters.
Ongoing Reminders:
- All STAFF must be at their Morning post at 8:00am and Dismissal post at 2:10 pm.
- Period 7 ends at 2:10 pm ---- Dismissal post is from 2:10pm - 2:20pm
- Book Baggies: All students should have book baggies with just right books: 5 books max levels A-K / 3 books max levels L-Z--- Check students books for accuracy.
- Post Guided Reading Groups and Math Groups
- As you greet our rockets this week please remember to greet our learners with kindness, organized, colorful, learning environments and with honest preparation for becoming literate, mathematicians, scientists, historians, critical thinkers willing and able to solve world problems, in other words PLAN, meaningful, productive interactive, and engaging lessons
