Hijab for a Day
Join us in this event for building interfaith understanding
Second Annual Hijab for a Day
Naz MSA invites the campus community to consider women's experiences and women's rights in Islam. Through this event, we hope to provide the opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to gain first-hand experience with the hijab (head scarf) as we explain the purpose, responsibilities, and expectations associated with it.
Please join us in wearing a hijab on Monday, February 1st, and then for a reflection and lunch on Tuesday, February 2nd at 12:10pm in the Forum in Shults. Pizza will be served.
On Monday, MSA will be lending hijabs to female students, faculty and staff who are interested in participating in this experience. Distribution will be from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm in 2 locations: the chapel foyer in GAC and near the info desk in Shults.
You can bring your own scarf and learn how to wear it as a hijab - or you can choose from a variety of hijabs that MSA will loan out for the day (while supplies last)!
Please RSVP for the Tuesday reflection and lunch only.
