ANNOUNCING: Gr 5-8 Girls Dress Code Change
Due to widespread positive opinions of staff and parents and students, and especially in response due to the well-presented proposal by our St. Gabriel Student Council commissioners, we are going to add the navy blue banded polo shirt, in short OR long sleeves, to the grade 5-8 girls dress code for the entire year -- with one requirement: Going forward from today, October 1, 2015, the new long sleeve shirt, AND any new short sleeve shirts ordered, besides having a banded bottom, must have the new school logo embroidered on it in white by Schoolbelles. However, any plain blue short sleeve shirts without the new logo bought before today will be grandfathered in for the rest of the school year.
The logo is the copy of the school copy letterhead design we use on all documents, created from the same logo of Jesus and the same font of the name in our school mission statement. The shirt material is that very soft, smooth and comfortable knit of combed cotton and polyester.
The price of the short sleeve banded bottom polo with school logo will be
$26.14 Youth (XSY - XLY)
$28.14 Adult (SA - XLA)
$31.14 Adult (2XLA - 3XLA)
The long sleeve banded polos are $2.00 more
The new shirts with logos must be purchased from Schoolbelles since they have created the template to embroider the logo.
CLUBS and EXTRACURRICULARS -- NEW!!!
Math Club Grade 5, and Math Club Grades 6-8
We are excited to finally announce the start of our two school Math Clubs. Promoting mathematical importance and amusement, and nurturing excellence in mathematics, these after school clubs for Grades 5, and for Grade 6-8 will be facilitated by Mrs. Christine Horne and parent aides.
In a fun environment of problem solving, puzzles/logic games, mock contests, and snacks, students will grow in their "mathlete" skills, plus prepare for competitions, such as in the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics (GCCTM) math competitions of mental math, problem solving, and math construction problems.
If you are interested in joining, read the information form and complete and return either of the application forms linked below.

Message from the Art Room
The year is already off to a great start and many classes are already finishing their first project. All projects completed in Art Class will be posted to Artsonia, our school’s online art gallery. If you see a work of art posted on your child’s account and it is not sent home, please assume that I have kept this work for the upcoming Art Show. St. Gabes hosts two Art Shows a year. The first one is during during Catholic Schools Week (January 31, 2016) and the second one is during Young Author/Artists Night (May 26, 2016). All work selected will be sent home when the show is taken down.
Thanks,
Mrs. ChalhoubST. GABRIEL SCHOOL BAND
