The following is a true story from . . . . .
. . . . . a first grade Lakeville classroom. A boy told his teacher, "My parents grew up in St. Paul, Africa." The teacher replied, "I know St. Paul, Minnesota, but not St. Paul, Africa." The boy's response: "That's because St. Paul, Africa is in Hawaii."
Explaining our New Grades to our Students
As we head into "report card season", here's an anchor chart that was seen in a classroom (written in kid friendly language) to help explain our new grading system:
Goal Setting with your Students in 2019
Will you be discussing goal setting and resolutions with your students?
There is a ton of research (going back decades) that shows that when students set goals it increases both motivation and achievement. This link has lots of great ideas and extensions for you to try with your students as you journey into 2019.
