Rembrandt was born July 15, 1606 in Leiden, Dutch Republic. He died 63 years later on October 4, 1669. Rembrandt the only child from his large family to go to college. He went to the University of Leiden but left to get his reputation as a painter. Then he went to Amsterdam. But then he went back to Leiden just long enough to get his reputation as a painter.
