Tips For Aging Well

  • Load up on high-fiber fruits, vegetables, and whole grain - your digestive system does slow as you get older so fiber rich foods are very important to keep your body running and you feel more energetic
  • Be aware of dehydration - as you get older you are more prone to dehydration always be sure to drink plenty of fluids even if you aren't thirsty
  • Make meals a social event - it is much more enjoyable to eat with others than alone. If you live alone invite people over to continue social connections
  • Check with your doctor before you begin an exercise program - find out if you have any health conditions that could affect what exercise you are able to do
  • Develop bedtime rituals - such as taking a bath or listening to music will help you wind down
