LOST and FOUND

Our Lost and Found items are accumulating! Please have your child check the Lost and Found if they are missing an item. We currently have over 66 sweatshirts and jackets. The Lost and Found is located outside of the cafeteria.

MOVING?

If you are planning to move out of our school attendance area for the next school year, please notify the school office at this time. This information will be most important as we make preparations for next school year.

Also, if you or anyone you know are planning to enroll a new student in any grade for the 2023-2024 school year, please notify the school office at this time.

Bus Deviations for 2023-2024

Please remember that if you wish to request permission for your child to ride a bus or use a bus stop other than the one assigned based on your residence, the school office will need your completed bus deviation form by July 1, 2023. These requests are approved on a space available basis and require four days before becoming effective. If you wait until the start of the 2023-2024 school year to request a bus deviation, there will be delays and possible denial due to the unavailability of space on the bus requested. Also, please remember that the district policy regarding bus deviations does not permit more than one pick up or drop off location. Bus deviations must be requested each year.

From the Nurse's Desk - April News

Below you will find information regarding health room procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the health room nurses at 610-473-1770.

Pennsylvania Mandates

Attention 2nd grade parents: The State of Pennsylvania REQUIRES each child to have a dental examination for 3rd grade. If your child is currently in 2nd grade, your dental examination forms are due by the start of the 2023-2024 school year. An examination is considered acceptable if it was completed on September 1, 2022, or later. Please return the completed dental examination forms by emailing to ekovach@boyertownasd.org or by faxing it to 610-754-8349. Blank dental forms can be obtained from the BASD website. From the BASD homepage, click on Health Services then scroll down and choose Family Dental Form.

Medication

Spring is here and that means allergy season is here. If your child needs to take medication while at school to help with his/her allergies, refer to the BASD medication policy. All prescribed and over-the-counter medications require a completed medication authorization form which includes written authorization from a physician, as well as written permission from a parent/guardian. Once all paperwork is completed and sent to the health room, please call 610-473-1770 to schedule an appointment to drop off the medication. Please note, medication must be brought to school in the original container. Medication authorization forms can be obtained from the BASD website. From the BASD homepage, click on Health Services. Then scroll down and choose Medication Authorization Form.

Change of Clothing

Please keep a change of clothing in your child’s backpack. Clothing can become soiled due to a bathroom accident, fall outside in the mud, or because of spilling food/drink. The health room may not have appropriately sized clothing, so if your child does have an accident of any sort, a parent will be called to bring clothing in for the child.

From the PTCA

PTCA Happening Now/Upcoming:

**Attention 5th grade parents!!

We are EXCITED to invite all graduating 5th Grade Students to a FUN night together at RINGING ROCKS ROLLER SKATING RINK!!

“Roll Out of Elementary School” and gather with classmates prior to your next BIG adventure at Boyertown East!

This will be a free event for all 5th grade students on MAY 24th at 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Students will be provided roller skates for free to use OR they may bring their own roller skates/roller blades.

This is NOT a "Drop and Go" event. A parent/guardian will be required to stay on the property of Ringing Rocks for the duration of the event while their student is participating.

Due to building capacity, not all parents/guardians will be allowed within the building for the entire duration of the event.

Although this will be a free event for the students – one parent for each child MUST sign up to volunteer your time watching over the students for 1 hour of the event within the building. Our hope is to also have each parent be able to enjoy seeing NHUF graduating students celebrate their GRADUATION with classmates!

Please sign up for only 1 time slot. If slots are still open the week of the event you may sign up for a second slot.

**Board Elections!

We are looking for nominations for the Officers of the Executive Board. Nominations can be self-nominations or nominations of another member of the NHUF PTCA General Membership. A member may not accept nomination for more than one office simultaneously and can withdraw their nomination at any time. Nominations should be sent to Trista Smith via email Trista_smith@hotmail.com by Friday, May 12th. Please include the nominee’s name, position for nomination, and a short bio.

The official list of nominees and their bios will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and emailed out on Monday, May 15th along with the voting link, and votes will be accepted until noon on Thursday, May 18th.
