Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
The knitting club will be mailing SIXTYFIVE hats to the American Heart Association to help with their "Little Hats. Big Hearts" program. Babies born in participating hospitals during the month of February (heart month) will receive a red hat. "Together we are working to raise awareness, provide resources and inspire moms to take their family's heart health to heart while also raising awareness about Cingenital Heart Defects"
News from the LRC
New Birthday Book Policy: If you would like to donate a book to the LRC in celebration of your child's birthday, please send a check for $15 payable to Prairie Point as soon as possible. Your child will then be able to select a hardcover book from our cart of new books. A commemorative sticker will be placed in the book, and your child will be the first person to check out the book.
We regret that we will no longer be able to accept softcover books as birthday book donations. Those may be donated to the classroom as an alternative.
Thank you to these students who recently donated books to our LRC in celebration of their birthdays: Breanna Thomas, Sophia Buonincontro, Cheyenne Kerback, and Tanner Stumpenhorst.
On Thursday, Dec. 8th author Betty Kay visited Prairie Point and presented in character to 5th grade students as three women from Illinois history. She portrayed Mary Todd Lincoln's sister, Elizabeth, to 3rd and 4th graders. Our thanks to Home and School for their help in making this visit possible.
A huge thanks to all those who volunteered their time or gave wrapping donations for our Holiday Shop Book Fair. It was a great success, and we hope to repeat it next year. Thank you for your support!

Holiday Shop Review & Survey
We would like to thank our Prairie Point families for making our Holiday Shop such a huge success. We almost doubled our inventory from last year to 2000 items and our tables were clearing quickly. We want to thank all of our parent volunteers, the student volunteers from OHS and our custodial staff for their assistance.
Our Home & School committees work very hard to bring events to the school and parents input is important to us. We have put together a quick 5 question survey and would appreciate you taking the time to click on the link below.
