FORWARD EXAM TESTING
Lake Country School’s testing window runs from April 5-28. Classroom teachers will publish the specific dates they will be testing. Please notify your child’s teacher as soon as possible if your child has a planned absence(s) or an appointment that cannot be rescheduled during this timeframe.
Please make a concerted effort to have your child at school on these dates. All testing needs to be completed and submitted to the testing company by April 28. If your child is absent during the testing period, a make-up opportunity will be scheduled which will require your child to be pulled out of class. You can help your child do well on the tests by:
Making certain that your child is in attendance during the classroom testing times
Encouraging your child to give his/her best effort
Ensuring your child gets a good night’s rest prior to testing
Having your child eat a nutritious breakfast
Ensuring your child has the necessary materials for testing (charged Chromebook & wired headphones/earbuds)
For more information about the test, please read the Forward Exam for Families.
Scores from the Forward Exam are reported in the proficiency categories of “Advanced”, “Proficient,” “Basic,” and “Below Basic” based on score ranges established by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The Forward Exam results will be communicated to parents. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s participation in the 2023 Forward Exam, please contact your child’s teacher or Debby Schneider at x126.
HOW TO REPORT YOUR CHILD ABSENT OR TARDY
To report your child absent please call our recorded attendance line at 262.367.3606 x101
We ask that you leave the following information on the attendance message system:
Students Name, Teacher, Reason for Absence
To report your child tardy or to notify the office of an appointment during the school day, please call the recorded attendance line at 262.367.3606 x101.
If you prefer to email the district about your child's absence, please email the Attendance Secretary, Michelle Howard at howardm@mylakecountryschool.org.
CHILDREN NOT FEELING WELL?
If your child is not feeling well or if your child has a fever (any temperature greater than 100 degrees F), please report them absent to the attendance line and keep them home. Children may return to school when they are feeling better and are fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medications (such as Tylenol, Motrin, Advil, etc.)
This applies even if the underlying cause of the fever is non-infectious, such as middle ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, etc. Children with infections do not feel well enough to participate in and attend school activities. It is recommended that they be given 24 hours to recover from the fever before returning to school. Please note that a child who exhibits symptoms of illness without a fever may be sent home if the nurse feels this is in the best interest of the child or the child’s classmates.
DROPPING OFF AN ITEM FOR YOUR CHILD DURING THE SCHOOL DAY
If you have an item to drop off for your child during the school day, please use the white shelving system in the main entrance vestibule. Press the intercom button to notify the office that you are outside. Let them know you are dropping off an item, and use door 3 to set the item on the shelving system. If you wish to leave a note with the item, paper, and pencil are provided.
