Why Socialism?
The primary purpose of a socialist-based economy is to provide social equality, economic equality, medical equality and political equality. The idea is for everyone to be contributing member of society, so that these goals can be reached through hard work.
Background Information
Originally founded by Robert Owen, the socialist-based economy grew popular in places like China, Denmark, Finland and Netherlands because of its general idea of creating a more "equal" society. Unlike communism and capitalism, socialism believes that wealth should be shared equally among everyone, but they do not, like the communists, believe that workers will one day overthrow capitalists.
