As the spring semester begins, we are wrapping up middle school soccer, in the thick of district competition for boys and girls basketball, kicking off soccer season and starting practices for baseball and softball.

District Standings Basketball: 4A, 5A, 6A

  • 8-4A BOYS: YMLA, Dunbar, Western Hills, Benbrook, Eastern Hills, Riverside, Diamond Hill-Jarvis
  • 8-4A GIRLS: Dunbar, Benbrook, Eastern Hills, Riverside, Western Hills, Diamond Hill-Jarvis, YWLA
  • 7-5A BOYS: Wyatt, Southwest, South Hills Trimble Tech, Heights, Poly, Saginaw, North Side

  • 3-6A BOYS: Paschal is currently 7th

Paschal Swimming: Regional Qualifier

Good luck to Grant Chapa at Regionals next week!! Chapa won 1st place in the 100 back and 2nd place in the 100 fly at district competition.

FWISD is very proud of all of our swimmers and look forward to next season!

Arlington Heights Boys and Girls Swim Advance!!

The Arlington Heights Swim Team competed in the District Championships last night at Wilkerson-Greines Natatorium. Both boys and girls teams won in convincing fashion, dominating the field of five. Competing for the girls were; Jacqueline Pesina 50 free, Caroline Wright – 3rd place 100 free, Jacqueline Kralick, 3rd place 50 free, 2nd place 100 free, Marcella Niehoff 50 free, Elizabeth Walters – 1st place 200 IM, 2nd place 50 free.

For the boys, David Robacker- 1st place 200 free, 1st place 100 back, Ethan Garrett 2nd place 50 free, 1st place 100 breast, and Anthony Robacker- 1st place 500 free and 1st place 50 free. Anthony also was designated swimmer of the meet.

The boys and girls advance to the regional championship next weekend. Thank you for your support.

Campus Coordinator Highlight

Carter-Riverside Boys' Athletic Coordinator: Philip Murray

Philip Murray is the new Boys Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Carter-Riverside High School. Most recently from Richardson Pearce High School, Coach Murray has coached at both the high school, and college level. His first coaching job was working on staff at Methodist University in North Carolina in 2003. In the metroplex, he has coached at high schools in Garland, Dallas, Rockwall and Lucas. He has experience as an Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator and Head Coach at the 5A and 6A levels before taking over the Eagles in the summer of 2020.

Coach Murray believes in building community based sports' programs that derive their focus from the interests of the community. He sees the Riverside community as hard working, and disciplined, with high expectations of their own.

A metroplex native, Philip grew up in Mesquite, graduating from Poteet high school before attending Columbia University in New York. Coach Murray was a 4 year starter at Columbia. He was named All-Ivy three times and has the career record for Interceptions.

Coach Murray and his wife Alison, have twin 9 year old girls, Evie and Josie.
