What caused the U.S. to enter WWI?
The United States entered the war because the Germans kept sinking ships with American passenger. Then Germany asked Mexico to side with them and if they side with them they will give Mexico back it's land it lost in the Mexican war.

Texas became an important location for train troops. The railroad network in Texas helped move men and equipment quickly. More than 450 women from Texas served as nurses.

Military units from Texas included the Thirty-sixth Division, which was made up primarily of members of the Texas National Guard. The Ninetieth Division included soldiers from Texas and Oklahoma. Both divisions suffered heavy casualties in the major battles that brought about the end of the war

Franklin launched the New Deal. The New Deal would fix problems brought on by the Great Depression. It relief the poor, jobs for people, and prevent another depression.

The cause of the dust bowl was windstorms picking up dirt and form dust storms. These dust storms gave farmers lung problems. some farmers would leave the farm.

The PWA and the WPA were important because they created jobs for jobless people. The money from these programs was used to build bridges, dams, and schools.
How were tenant farmers and miners affected by the Great Depression?
The farmers struggled because of the Dust Bowl. Farmers suffered because the cost price of the crop went down.

Doris Miller an African-American sailor from Waco, was serving on the battleship when a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. Miller had no training as a gunner, he ran to an open deck gun and began firing. He shot down more than one warplane while defending his ship.

James was in the army reserves when he was called to duty. Took command of an Army Ranger Battalion. Scaled 100-foot cliffs to knock out german gun emplacements during the Allies.He carried out his mission.

Texas built Lone Star Army Ammunition near Texarkana. Texas prison holds about 50,000 German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war.
How did life changed for Texans on the home front during World War II?
The were worried about an attack from the air or sea. Cities practiced air-raid drills, all windows were covered and car headlights were shut off or shuttered to prevent light from showing the enemy a target.
