Parent Volunteers Needed (For many different things!)
Please fill out this FORM if you are interested in volunteering for one (or more) of the roles needed this year:
Site Council: The School Site Council (SSC) is a school community’s representative body, made up of school staff and parents/community members. The primary responsibility of the SSC is to participate in the development and monitoring of the Single Plan for Student Achievement, evaluate the effectiveness of programs, monitor the use of supplemental funding available to the school site, seek input from school advisory committees, and reaffirm or revise school goals. Ayers is currently seeking two parent/community nominees with the goal of providing a choice of candidates who represent the cultural, racial, and linguistic diversity of our community.
Parent Patrol: This is a position that has been around for many years. We are bringing it back this year! This position is not in-charge of any part of the school. However, assisting to keep our site and our students safe. We will have a need for 4-before and after school parents and 2-parents through-out the day. Before and After school: helping students continue to be safe getting to their cars, up and down the back hill, etc. During the school day: patrolling the halls, assisting the office with deliveries and locating students. These are all volunteer positions. You must be cleared to be a volunteer in our district.
Parent Advisory Committee: Each site is required to have a representative on the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC.). This advisory group meets with the Superintendent monthly and provides
feedback to the District on how we can better support students and families. Representatives can be members from your School Site Council (SSC), ELAC, PTA, PFC or any other site advisory group.

Fundraiser Information
Hi MDE families,
We are a week into our Believe Kids & Otis Spunkmeyer fundraiser, and we have seen incredible engagement, excitement, and fundraising from our school. Truly, thank you for your support! We hope the Coop keychains aren’t making you too crazy
Please continue to share the catalogues and share through https://www.shopfund.com/ with family and friends to help us reach our goals!
Here are some FAQ:
- It’s not too late to register, visit: https://www.shopfund.com/
- The name of our school is listed as “Mt. Diablo Elementary School”
- Students have the opportunity to get more coop keychains for selling items.
- Your child can turn in their paper coupons from their packets next week on Tuesday, Aug 30 & Thursday, Sept 1, from 2:30-3pm at the table in front of the MUR.
- TK/K families only can turn the coupons into their teachers and they will give keychains out next week.
- Students can earn one keychain for every coupon they turn in. There are coupons for 5, 10, and 20 Items sold. This is a combo of online & paper sales.
- The coupons are at the bottom of the parent letter that was sent home last week. If your child has sold 20 Items, they would turn in all 3 coupons, and would then get 3 coop mystery keychains!!
- 1 item sold = 1 credit/prize. Cost of the item does not matter.
- Students can NOT exchange the keychains for another one. They can trade with their friends as they want.
- Parents must sign the actual coupon in order for your child to redeem.
- Sharing with friends and family. Your friends and family can shop & support in 3 ways:
1) You can send emails (as well as texts and social media posts!) directly to friends and family from the site. This is the recommended way as it’s easiest!
2) You can send them your child's personal shopping link
3) You can give them the shopfund.com link as well as your child’s student code.
- If you have paper order forms that you would like to turn in, students can turn these into either your teacher or to the office. We will also be collecting these from each classroom when the fundraiser is over at the end of next week.
- Our fundraiser ends on Wednesday, August 31.
- Orders will be delivered Mid October, date TBA soon!
Please let us know if you have any questions, and thanks again for your awesome support!!
