Thursday ~ "Getting Started, Getting Published" Panel Discussion
The Inklings Literary Society (CW club for Graduate Students) is hosting an exciting panel discussion featuring some of Chapman's very own faculty members: Professor Richard Bausch, Dr. Anna Leahy and Professor Tom Zoellner. These writers will discuss their own experiences getting published in their fields, how the publishing industry has changed, and advice for writers who are just getting started. The panel will conclude with a Q & A session. Light refreshments will be provided. It is a wonderful opportunity for the all writing students--graduate and undergraduate--to find out how to set themselves apart in a creative writing program and in their own literary communities. Location AF 206A, 7:00 pm
Friday ~ Social
Come enjoy a Movie Screening & Costume Contest! Come as your favorite literary character or writer and win an awesome prize. There will be snacks and literary mocktails for all! This is an awesome chance to hang out with Chapman's creative writing crowd as the semester winds down. Location AF 206A. 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Saturday ~ Reading
Take the night to enjoy readings from Chapman's literary masters. We're hoping to hear an array of genres from poetry to short stories to nonfiction or anything else you got! The more readers we have, the more fun it will be! This is a great opportunity to practice reading to an audience and getting a feel for how your work sounds. Location Chapman Coffee House, 8:30ish pm - 10:30pm *Time will vary depending on the amount of readers so please, if you're interested, shoot us an email or comment on the Facebook webpage.
