Academic Development
- The SOA National Honor Society(NHS) has members available for tutoring and help with organizing. Flyers with QR codes are all around campus for students to sign up for assistance when they need it. Encourage your child to sign up.
- Tutor.com: Free Tutoring Site. Students can contact a live Tutor for any grade or subject area. Students can access through Clever.
- Organizing Your Schoolwork - Help your teens with these tips for Teens on strengthening skills for being organized, getting and staying focused, and getting things done.
- January 31 - PreACT administration - All 10th graders will take the practice test for the ACT. "This provides a predicted ACT test score, & offers a wealth of information to help students get they need to be college ready." PreACT overview
- February 1 - SAT will be administered to those 3rd year high school students who selected it.
- March 7 - ACT will be administered to those 3rd year high school students who selected it.

- "Cruising Through Careers": SOA Middle school students heard from great Career speakers on the last day before the Holiday Break. Speakers included a MUSC Professor/Anesthesiologist, Radio Personality, Carolina Studios Lead Instructor, Real Estate Broker, Gibbes Museum Director of Education & Programs, Photographer, Paramedic, Engineer, Attorney, Actor, Band Leader, & CCSD Associate Superintendent, plus more. See some of the pictures below. Thanks to Ms. Page-Dawson and Ms. Gerideau-Grant for leading the coordination of this event.
