Wow! When I left for surgery, I had no idea what I was getting into! The recovery process was a little harder/longer than I thought it would be. Please bear with me as I catch up on grading and inputting grades. I give the kids 150% during the day, so at night I am pretty tired. Hopefully, by this Friday I will be all caught up.
Reading- The kids selected which stories from Reading Streets we will read for the rest of the year. First up- Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Guided Reading- We are working on a variety of novels by Avi. Ask your child what he or she is reading.
Writing- We are working on using what we know about story structure from reading in our writing. Next stop is writing a full-blown fairy tale.
Math- We will wrap up coordinate grids this week and move on to order of operations and algebra next week.
Social Studies- Today we become pioneers on the trail West. It will take the rest of the month to get us there.
Science- Comparing what we know about the Earth's structure to what Jules Verne imagined in Journey to the Center of the Earth.
