“Let’s Talk Turkey!”
“Let’s Talk Turkey!”
First grade will be watching an interactive presentation from Connect 2 Texas that will show the habitat and calls of the turkey on Wednesday at 12:45. This interactive presentation introduces students to fun facts about one of our state's most fabulous birds: THE WILD TURKEY! We will discuss turkey anatomy, habitat, adaptations, and basic needs, as well as the various "calls" or vocalizations that turkeys use to communicate in their environment. Students will listen to an assortment of calls and have the opportunity to take an up-close look at a real Wild Turkey.
First Grade Field Trip
We are so excited about our field trip to AT&T stadium this Thursday, November 19th. Please remind your child to wear his/her green, black or blue class field trip shirt.
Your child also needs to bring jacket and a sack lunch that is totally disposable. Please make sure your child also has a healthy snack to enjoy before we leave for the field trip. If you are a parent attending on our field trip, please
check your email tomorrow for a message with more detailed field trip information.
Lunch & Learn on Friday
Students will be participating in a “Lunch and Learn,” this Friday. To improve the experience, we encourage all students to bring a lunch that day. We will be taking a virtual field trip to the Plymouth Plantation. Students will be introduced to the first harvest celebration, delve deeper into the relationships between the Pilgrims and the Wampanoags, and take a closer look at the historical significance of the Pilgrims' settlement.
