Dear Families,
Progress Reports will come home this week, on Wednesday, for all 4K, Early Childhood, and Preschool Phonology students.
The EC and Phono progress reports are based on each child's IEP goals. The 4K progress reports are based on end-of-quarter expectations for the 2nd quarter. You will receive a parent guide to assist with reviewing your child's current progress.
As a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL this Friday as we will have a Professional Learning Day!
Please contact us with any questions!
Thank you!
Ms. Stacie Nelson, Principal
Please mark your calendars!

Substitutes Needed!

If you are interested in providing support services on an as-needed basis, please apply via the WECAN website at https://services.education.wisc.edu/wecan/ If you have any questions, please contact Janet Linke at 920-751-6800, ext. 10109 or jlinke@neenah.k12.wi.us.
Child Find Screening
The Neenah Joint School District conducts developmental screenings for preschool-age children who reside within the school district. A Child Find Preschool Screening can answer many questions about your child’s development. The purpose of the screening is to provide you with developmental information on your child and to identify children who may need access to our programs at Washington.
If you have, or know of someone who has, a child who is between the ages of two years, nine months and age five and would like to schedule a screening appointment, you may complete the online child find screening request form. If you have additional questions or need assistance, please call 751-6990 ext. 24100. The screenings are FREE and typically last one hour.
Remaining dates for the 2016-17 School Year:
- Friday, February 3, 2017
- Friday, March 3, 2017
- Friday, April 7, 2017
Here is what to expect:
- After you check in, you and your child are taken to a classroom where his/her speech, language, concepts, and motor skills are screened.
- Your child is screened at three different stations by early childhood teachers and a speech-language pathologist.
- During this process you are asked to fill out a parent questionnaire asking about your child’s social-emotional and self-help skills.
- Upon completion of the screening, the results will be shared with parents. If your child’s screening results indicate a potential delay(s) a referral for an evaluation may be initiated and will be discussed at the post screening conference.
- You can help yourself to informational and community resource flyers.
Inclement Weather Reminder!
NJSD Families-
In the case of inclement weather an announcement about school cancellations or delays will be sent via text message and e-mail to all parents and staff members through the District's messaging service. An announcement will also be posted on the District website (www.neenah.k12.wi.us), Facebook page (Neenah Joint School District) and Twitter feed (@NeenahSchools).
The following television stations will be contacted to broadcast any school closing announcements: WBAY TV-2, WFRV TV-5, WLUK TV-11 and WGBA TV-26. The following radio stations will also be contacted: WNAM AM-1280, WOSH AM-1490, WHBY AM-1150, WIXX FM-101.1, WPKR FM-99.5, WAPL FM-105.7, WVBO FM-103.9 and WEMI FM-91.9. A decision to close or delay school will be made as soon as possible to help families make arrangements.
Messages will only be sent in case of a cancellation or delay. The District will not send messages when school is open.
As always, parents may choose to keep their child(ren) home from school in case of cold or hazardous conditions and the absence will be excused.
PLEASE NOTE! If there is a 2-hour delay, that will automatically mean that there will be NO AM CLASSES! PM classes will run as normal.
If we get an early release due to weather, the PM classes will hopefully be cancelled before they begin at 12:05. IF NOT, they will dismiss at 1:45.
Please watch for district emails and watch for information on the news. Remember, if you don't see any information, then we are holding class as normal.
