The Right Brain
how it shapes the way you think
What's the Difference?
Everybody uses both hemispheres of their brain, but usually one side has more dominance over the way an individual person thinks. The right side of the brain is responsible for creativity and "big-picure" thinking, while the left side is the more logical and detail-oriented side.
Thought Process
While both sides of the brain are necessary for critical thinking and processing information, people who are right brained are more apt at thinking outside the box, learning through visual stimuli, and seeing the big picture.
Strengths and Weaknesses
People who are right brained are highly creative and usually good at visual art, theatre, composition, etc. In addition, they usually have stronger "gut feelings" and instead of analyzing the details of a situation, they do what feels right. However, these great qualities are at the cost of organization, detail, and resisting impulse.
Areas of Study
Right-brained thinkers will flourish in jobs such as graphic design, teaching, film industry work, and psychology. In other words, jobs that sometimes require creative and/or unconventional thinking.
