Week One is in the History books!!
Greetings MVLA!
We've made it through the first week! I LOVE having your kiddos here. They have been GREAT!
Thank you for continuing to send kids with masks. They have been wonderful about complying with that.
Remember -we are also working to keep kids safe by:
- using a block schedule to limit transitions;
- holding two lunches;
- spending time outside;
- encouraging social distancing;
- using the filters and cleaning protocols set by the District;
- asking students to bring their own water bottles to use the water bottle fillers. Please have your students put their name on their bottle.
Upcoming Events
- Some After School Programs will start August 23rd. Please have your student sign up as soon as they get information about it as spaces are limited to 15 students for each class.
- Picture Day is August 26th. Please have your student dress to impress.
- OPEN HOUSE VIA ZOOM WEBINAR - SEPT 1ST

If you would like more information about what the District Advisory Council is, please click here:

If you would like to serve as our District Advisory Council person, please email Mrs. Martos at amartos@lcps.net.
We will be combining the meetings for SAC with PTO so you do not need to attend multiple meetings. We can have parents let us know if you would like to be in SAC at Open House which will be on September 1st via Webinar.
Nutrition Services
If your child requires a special diet for any reason, please contact the school nurse Mrs. Hartshorn. You can call 527-6059 and ask for her and she will help set that up.
Also, please DO NOT have food delivered to campus. If you must bring food on occasion because your student has a special diet and forgot their lunch, that is fine, but please do NOT send deliveries, door dash, etc.
Parent Pick Up and Drop Off
Please see the attached map for more guidance.
To ease congestion we would also like to ask that parents work with us by using staggered drop off and pick up times starting AUGUST 9TH. Students with the last names:
A - L Please drop off in the mornings from 8:30 to 8:40 and pick up in the afternoon from 3:10 - 3:20.
M - Z Please drop off from 8:40 - 8:50 and pick up in the afternoon from 3:20 - 3:30.
Cell Phone Policies
If your child does not feel well, please tell them they need to come see the nurse and she will contact you if they need to be picked up. Students should not be calling or texting parents during the day unless it is from the office with an adult present.
Technology Notes
Families on LCPS-Sponsored Comcast Cares This LCPS-sponsored service will end this semester.
Please sign up for the FCC Emergency Broadband Benefit Program here - https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit. Qualifying families will be able to continue Comcast service with the EBB program.
The NM Student Connect Hotline is available to assist families with sign up and any questions. If a student’s address in StudentVue is serviceable by a local Internet Service Provider, please sign up for the FCC Emergency Broadband Benefit Program here - https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit.
The NM Student Connect Hotline is available to assist. Your LCPS Hotspot will need to be returned to the school and checked back in. Once returned, the student fee will be removed.
If a student's address in StudentVue is NOT serviceable by a local Internet Service Provider, the family is eligible to check out an LCPS hotspot again for the 21-22 school year. To do this, families will need to return their current hotspot to your school. You will then be able to request a hotspot for the 21-22 school year. Schools will only check out hotspots to families that have an eligible address.
