January 9, 2013
Dear First Grade Families,
First and foremost I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope 2013 brings much joy and happiness to you and your families. For me 2013 will be a year of many changes, beginning in your child’s classroom at India Hook Elementary School.
For those of you I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Abbey Wilson. I am the intern from Winthrop University in your child’s classroom. I am studying early childhood education and will graduate in May, after my completion of this internship. Throughout the fall semester I spent Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in your child’s classroom and on December 12th I began full time in the classroom. Prior to my experience in your child’s classroom I have had experience in Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade classrooms in Greenville, South Carolina, my hometown, and Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Beginning within the next two weeks I will slowly begin to take over teaching and by the beginning of March I will be teaching full time. Like Ms. Galloway, throughout my time teaching I will send home weekly newsletters.
I am looking forward to completing my internship with Ms. Galloway, your child, and your child’s classmates. I have learned and grown so much as a teacher already and cannot wait to learn and grow more! If you have any questions for me at any point in the semester feel free to email me at email@example.com.
Sincerely, Abbey Wilson
