Note from Ms. Wilson:

January 9, 2013

Dear First Grade Families,

First and foremost I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope 2013 brings much joy and happiness to you and your families. For me 2013 will be a year of many changes, beginning in your child’s classroom at India Hook Elementary School.

For those of you I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Abbey Wilson. I am the intern from Winthrop University in your child’s classroom. I am studying early childhood education and will graduate in May, after my completion of this internship. Throughout the fall semester I spent Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in your child’s classroom and on December 12th I began full time in the classroom. Prior to my experience in your child’s classroom I have had experience in Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade classrooms in Greenville, South Carolina, my hometown, and Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Beginning within the next two weeks I will slowly begin to take over teaching and by the beginning of March I will be teaching full time. Like Ms. Galloway, throughout my time teaching I will send home weekly newsletters.

I am looking forward to completing my internship with Ms. Galloway, your child, and your child’s classmates. I have learned and grown so much as a teacher already and cannot wait to learn and grow more! If you have any questions for me at any point in the semester feel free to email me at

Sincerely, Abbey Wilson
