Thursday PD
With data day approaching, we want you to be set up to maximize your time on data days to create strong instructional plans to target subgroups in prep for the end of the year while also preserving your time during Spring Break (you should FULLY disconnect!).
Your coaches will be reaching out to you to share the prework documents (same as the documents from December) so that you can begin working to complete them during your prep/CPT.
Your prework document is due by EoD on Friday, March 18, 2016. We originally set aside the normal "Thursday PD" time for you to complete the prework from 2:30-5:00pm, but we will leave it up to you to manage your time to complete the prework and submit it by EoD March 18th. Otherwise, you can use the Thursday PD time to take care of any personal needs or you can use it to complete the prework document. Share your coach and Christa on the prework document.
PLEASE plan to take some time to rest and relax on Spring Break! You each deserve it SO MUCH!
Love ya,
Christa
Data Day Prework
Data Day Schedules
- Ensure that there was clarity in what teachers should be working towards in order to increase their impact in the classroom, especially in these last weeks of instruction
- Provide teachers with enough time to apply and create the plans/materials/systems that need to be in place in order to create academic success
- Increase your each teacher's level of data analysis for who is growing, not growing and having the opportunity to create aligned next steps towards their end of year goals
- Maximize the time that we have on Data Days - these are our last set for the academic year- to ensure that we are making the deepest impact on Rocketeers in our last weeks of school
Overall, we wanted teachers to feel developed while also feeling prepared to enter into their classrooms following data days. It becomes nullified if we plan great PD and don't provide teachers with the adequate time to implement and create the plans necessary to make change happen.
I'm excited about closing the year out strong for our Rocketeers and for you all to see the fruits of the hard work you have each put in throughout the course of the year in service of and for your Rocketeers!
