SAFESCHOOLS SELF-REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS (VOLUNTEERS)
Volunteers
Charter Schools USA has elected to use the SafeSchools Online Safety Training Program to train both Professional, Support Staff and Volunteers on school-related safety issues.
SafeSchools offers training in all facets of school safety issues, and its compliance management system tracks all the training for several Districts, allowing them to easily demonstrate State and Federal Compliance with safety mandates. SafeSchools courses have been authored by nationally renowned experts, and SafeSchools has been endorsed by a number of school boards and superintendent associations nationwide.
All Volunteers are now required to complete the training outlined below before they will be allowed to volunteer.
NOTE: All Volunteers will need to register even if they have taken courses before. If you need assistance with your log in please reach out to the SafeSchools Team at safeschoolstraining@chartrschoolsusa.com
Here’s how to get STARTED (please follow these instructions):
STEP 1: SELF-REGISTER
1.Enter or Click on the web address:
a. https://charterschoolsusa-chartersafe.safeschools.com/register
2. You will be taken to the registration page.
b. On this page, you will need to enter your Registration Key: a496ee98
3. Fill in all required fields, including choosing your School Location.
4. Once you have chosen all items, please click on the green “Register” button.
5. After completing your registration, you will automatically be directed to the next screen. a. Click the blue “Continue to Assignments” button.
STEP 2: COMPLETE ASSIGNED TRAINING MODULES
1. You should now see your classes:
Sexual Harassment: Staff-to-Staff
Sexual Harassment: Student Issues & Response
Sexual Misconduct: Staff-to-Student
To complete a course, click on the title then follow the prompts.
STEP 3: CERTIFICATION
1. To earn a certificate of completion, you must complete all sections of the course and pass the quiz.
2. Once you complete the courses and print out the certificates of completion, please provide copies of your certificates to your school’s Volunteer Coordinator.
3. Once your Volunteer Coordinator receives copies of your certificates, you will be credited 2 hours of volunteer time.

FSA- EOC TESTING RESULTS IN FOCUS
5 steps to creating a parent account and linking it to your student.
The easiest and fastest way to get your results is through the Duval Focus/Oneview portal. All parents in Duval County including charter parents have access to their child's database.
Apply for schools online, review your child's grades and assignments, email teachers, see your transportation assignments through OneView. All these services are available 24-7 by creating a parent account and linking to your student. See 5 steps below:
Note that the recommended browser is Google Chrome.
Step 1: Get a Student ID (Skip this step if a student is not new to the district)
- If the student is new to the district, click on the "New Student ID" link below and follow the prompts. During the process of creating the student ID, you will have an opportunity to upload important registration documents. You can find a list of documents you'll need here.)
- If the student is currently enrolled or use to be enrolled in the district, go to Step 2.
- If the student is not new to the district, but you do not know his or her I.D., contact the school or the School Choice Office at 904-390-2082.
Step 2: Create a Parent/Guardian Account
- Click on the “Create Account” button
- Be sure to use Google Chrome. However, if you’re on a Mac, you may need to use Safari
- Follow the on-screen directions to complete the account.
- Be sure to enter your first and last name, your personal email address, and your password when creating the account.
- Make note of the email address and password you used as it will be used again in the future.
Step 3: Verify your Parent/Guardian Account
- Go to the email account you used to create your user account and open the email from FIMservice@duvalschools.org. Click on the ‘Email Validation Link.'
- Your email account must be verified within seven days using the link from the email. If you don’t see it, check your clutter or junk file in your email.
- You will need to wait 24 hours before moving to "Step 4 - Link your child to your student."
Step 4: Link your Oneview account to your student
- Click “Link Student” and add your student’s school, student ID#, and last name.
- If you don’t have a school yet, select “Applicant” for the school name.
- Note: You can add all your children at one time. Click “Add” after each child’s information is added.
- Click “Submit.”
Step 5: Visit your child’s school to show proof of the parent-child relationship.
- After you submit the link, you will now have 21 days to visit your child's school to show proof of the parent-child relationship.
- Be sure to take a photo ID to the school and have a staff member approve your request.
- Within 24 hours after the school verifies your account, you will be able to log into your account at https://duval.focusschoolsoftware.com
- You should see your student(s) names in your account.
- You'll have access to multiple functions including:
- Apply for schools
- Apply for transportation
- See your child’s grades
- Contact your child’s teachers
Notes
Online and in-person - The process begins online. But there is an in-person component. The in-person component includes parents visiting their child's school of enrollment to provide identification. This helps maintain student confidentiality.
Need Assistance? - Families in need of additional assistance can contact Technology Services at 904-348-7628 Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Questions related to FOCUS can also be sent to pga_support@duvalschools.org. You can also reach out to their school with questions and concerns.
Employees/students - Teachers/Administrators/Students use their district username and password to access Focus, OneView, and the Mobile App. Employees that are also parents or guardians to a DCPS student must register for a separate parent/guardian account using a personal email address.)

This will help minimize the amount of cash and checks that need to be handled throughout the day, which allows us to focus on keeping your student safe.

NOTE: When choosing the District, please select "Renaissance Charter Schools". Make sure you add your student(s), the school ID number is required, if you do not have the student's number please contact the school at 904-899-1010.

Mobile App for Parent Portal:
• Download the app from the iOS app store or Google Play store.
• Enter our District Code – CZQS and the information above to login into your account.
E-COLLECT AND POWERSCHOOL
See the shortcuts below to help you navigate:
- FreedomCafe: Apply for Free/Reduced Lunch, check breakfast/Lunch Account balance, make notes to the cafeteria staff about dietary or purchasing restrictions
- SLA Management: View Breakfast/Lunch menus
- PowerSchool: Check student attendance, grades (iPhone/Android App, and website) and log Volunteer Time (desktop site only). Create an account and then use your student's individual credentials to link your student to your account.
- https://csusa.schoolmint.net/: Re-enroll, apply for new students, Update student emergency contact info. Add/change who is authorized to pick up your student. When you update info here, the school administration can see these updates immediately.
When you first log into the site, you must select the appropriate school. You should be able to select "Charter Schools USA-FL" and then it will take you into the Office 365 sign-in screen.
