TTUSD Leadership Changes Announced
Board Appoints New Superintendent Chief Learning Officer
We are excited to share that the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Board of Trustees, in their meeting held last night on April 12, 2023, unanimously approved to appoint both Mrs. Kerstin Kramer as the new Superintendent Chief Learning Officer and Mrs. Logan Mallonee as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, effective July 1, 2023.
Mrs. Kramer most recently served as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for TTUSD, where she led a team focused on providing a comprehensive standards-based curriculum and high-quality instruction to all students. She has also been a middle school teacher, Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), and Principal of Glenshire Elementary for 6 years, contributing to 30 years in the field of education.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are confident that Mrs. Kramer is the ideal leader to guide the district forward and achieve our goals of providing the best possible education for our students,” said Board President DeeDee Driller. “The board actually interviewed Mrs. Kramer for the Superintendent position in 2020 and was incredibly impressed with her passion for education, commitment to student success, and collaborative leadership style. At that time, the board gave Superintendent Ghysels direction to mentor and provide growth opportunities to Mrs. Kramer in the hopes that she would be developed into her successor when the time came. We are thrilled to welcome an internal candidate into this position as she’s already familiar with the community and the district and has established relationships with families and staff.”
Due to Mrs. Kramers's promotion, the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services opened up, and the board chose to promote Mrs. Logan Mallonee.
Mrs. Mallonee began her career in education in 2006 as an elementary teacher with the San Francisco Unified School District. From there, she quickly transitioned to TTUSD in 2008 and has been a valuable member of our staff ever since. Mrs. Mallonee served in a variety of positions during her tenure within the district, including as a Middle School teacher, an Academic Coach and Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), and Assistant Principal at both North Tahoe High School and Truckee High School before becoming the Principal of Truckee High in 2018.
“Mrs. Mallonee has been a dedicated and impactful force within the district for many years,” said Board President DeeDee Driller. “We are confident this new position will provide Mrs. Mallonee an opportunity to thrive. She has proven strong leadership skills in addition to a deep understanding of standards-based curriculum, academics, and personnel development.”
Superintendent Ghysels, Mrs. Kramer, and Mrs. Mallonee will all remain in their current roles through the end of the 2022/2023 school year and will work collaboratively to ensure a seamless transition.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Kramer and Mrs. Mallonee on these well-deserved promotions!
