They Came. They Shined, They Danced!!
The last count was 400 Prom-goers, 200 Chaperones and 1,200 Volunteers. At least 50 photographers recorded this special event.
The Prom-goers danced to the music of Haywire. the music started about 6:30 and the dancing and celebrating did not end until 9:00 p.m. Afterward Fireworks capped off a beautiful evening.
The idea of the Night to Shine originated with the Tim Tebow Foundation. However local generosity staff and workers made it go. A special thank you to Highland Park Baptist Church, Heritage Church and Cross Pointe Baptist Church for making this happen. Pastors Kevin Myers, Matt Graves and Joseph "Bubba" Rainwater were instrumental in providing leadership, coordination and recruitment of volunteers. Sam Clem, Executive Director, along with Brittany Rogers, riding instructor at Runnin' W J Ranch provided hundreds of hours of support to make the event a success.
