Writing - Digital Publishing

Students have been busy learning about various digital publishing tools: Word, Smore, Shorebird, and PowerPoint. This week, they will be publishing their writing using one or more of these tools. Digital publishing is where their creativity can really shine. So looking forward to the work they produce.

Writing portfolios will be coming home soon. These folders will contain all of the writing that your student has completed this school year. Please take a moment to read through the writing with your student and complement them on all the progress they've made. This group has loved to write and has been a pleasure to teach!!

Thanks to Parker Brayley and his dad for finding the perfect website for us to study. is a site that has blank maps. The students have been using the site as a study tool, so may be asking to go onto it at home to prepare. Students will be taking the challenge this Friday, May 13!!

Science and Social Studies

We are wrapping up social studies with a look at Missouri and the Civil War. Science will have students taking their first science benchmark test. A portion will be online multiple choice and the 2nd half will be paper pencil and constructed response/performance event. Data will be used to enhance instruction for 4th and 5th grade.

Thanks so much for everyone who reached out to me during Teacher Appreciation Week. From notes from the heart to my favorite drinks, from beautiful flowers to thoughtful gifts, from sweet treats to bear hugs, I appreciated and enjoyed each and every one of them.
