English Language Arts
This week’s reading is a nonfiction text titled Spiders. During reading we will discuss the various non-fiction text features we encounter. We will also learn more about different types of sentences to determine when to use a period, question mark, or exclamation point.
Spelling:
This week’s spelling words contain consonant blends. A blend is a combination of two or more consonant
sounds within a syllable. Examples of blends include:
/cr/ in crust /bl/ in blue /sn/ in snow

Reminders
- Tuesday 10/24 – “Hugs Not Drugs”- Students and staff may bring a small stuffed animal to school. Make sure there is a name label on it.
- Wednesday 10/25 – "Put a Cap on Drugs” - Students and staff may wear a hat to school, with regular uniform.
- Thursday 10/26 - "Sock it to Drugs" - Students and staff may wear crazy, zany, wild socks with regular uniform. Feel free to roll up your pants so we can see those socks!
- Friday 10/27- Living Wax Museum (3rd-5th grades) – Jeans and spirit shirts for PK-2nd grade.
