Weekly Newsletter
Hello Wildcat parents/guardians,
This week, I am so excited and honored to shine the spotlight on our head football coach, Michael Hobbs!
Coach Hobbs is one who needs no introduction. Most people probably know him because of football, but Coach Hobbs is also one of our amazing English teachers. While both teaching and coaching may get overwhelming at times, Coach Hobbs always has a positive attitude. When you pass him in the hallway, he always says hello with a huge smile on his face!
Over the last four years, Coach Hobbs has worked very hard to make his vision of developing scholar athletes both on and off the field a reality. He is devoted to building athletes that demonstrate good character. To reach that goal, every summer, El Camino’s football players participate in a character training program. In addition to this, he holds study halls to ensure his athletes get and stay eligible to play. Coach Hobbs goes above and beyond his duties as a coach. He is a mentor, a counselor, a teacher, a tutor, and a role model.
With all that he does, it comes as no surprise that Coach Hobbs has been awarded the San Diego County Sportsmanship award for coaches. He will receive this award during halftime at the Open Division Championship football game. CONGRATULATIONS, Coach Hobbs!

Class of 2022 - Baby Photos for the Yearbook
SENIORS - The yearbook staff is inviting students and parents to submit their Baby Photo to be included in the senior section of the 2022 yearbook. For more information on how to submit your baby photos, please check out this flyer.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS - We need your input!
Accreditation is a collaborative self-reflection and evaluation of all aspects of the school’s program and its impact on student learning and well-being based on the WASC research-based criteria. Furthermore, accreditation is a certification to the public that the school is a trustworthy institution of learning and well-being that is committed to continuous improvement.
Our WASC visit is next week! Sunday, November 14th from 3:30 - 5:00 pm, the WASC Visiting Committee would like to meet virtually (you can login from home) with ECHS parents/guardians in order to get your input and perspective regarding your child's education here at El Camino. We need approximately 25-30 parents to be a part of this committee. So far, we only have five (5) parents who have registered to participate. If you can please give an hour and a half of your time on Sunday the 14th, we would greatly appreciate it. This will be on a first come, first serve basis for the first 30 parents who register using this link - WASC Parent Mtg Registration Form. The form will close once the first 30 parents sign up and a link will be emailed to those who registered prior to the meeting.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

The program is offered free of cost to students and their families. In addition, at the end of the program, students qualify for undergraduate college credit.
LARC Startalk program is hosting 40-minute online information session for students and parents on Tuesday, November 9 at 5:00 pm.
You can register for the sessions, as well as learn more about the program on our website at https://larc.sdsu.edu/startalk-student-program-2022-2023/, where students can apply for the program until December 3, 2021.
