ARC Update
Schools opting in to 3rd Grade ARC adoption have or will be receiving boxes from ARC. As you begin to unpack the materials, please work with your CF to arrange barcoding. The bar codes are printed and will be put into courier today unless you let us know you are picking them up.

NC Digital Learning Competencies
The Digital Learning Competencies for NC Teachers and Administrators were approved by the NC State Board of Education and became effective 07/01/2017.
The competencies were approved as part of licensure renewal requirements. This policy includes the requirement of two Digital Learning Competency CEUs and will go into effect for teachers and for administrators with licenses expiring on or after June 30, 2019. Click here for FAQs.

- · Webinar on October 3 from 4:00-5:00 to explore the connection between the Professional Teaching Standards and the Digital Learning Competencies.
- · Coaching Digital Learning course for teachers, technology facilitators, and media specialists (20 certificate hours)

Do you want to present at NCTies?
We seek presentations from educators and students at all levels, from all parts of the world. We also welcome exhibitor-sponsored proposals that demonstrate uses of technology to transform education. Share your knowledge with the world and help others in their ed tech journeys.

MTAC Committee Members DUE October 31
At the local school level, the principal, as the instructional leader, shall designate a Media Advisory Committee to include :
The principal or designee
The media specialist (will chair the committee)
Technology Facilitator if avaliable
Teacher representatives from all program areas or grade levels
Parent representation
It may include student representation at elementary and middle levels
It shall include student representation at the high school level
Duties:
- Meets no fewer than 3 times a year
- Evaluates available resources
- Assess curriculum needs
- Consider networking arrangements
- Consult reputable, professionally prepared resources for selection
- Examine actual resource when possible
