UIL Requirements
CFISD Connect students can participate with all UIL activities.
Backpacks, and School Supplies
Dean Middle School will supply all students with school supplies and a backpack on the first day of school. There is no need to buy supplies.
Visitors Protocols
For safety and security purposes, all visitors must check in at the front desk. In order to enter the building, you will need to show a valid ID (driver’s license preferred).
In order to ensure that we have a safe and secure learning environment at Dean Middle School, other important information:
- So we can give our students acclimated to the routines and expectations we have for them here at Dean MS, we ask that there are no visitors during lunch until September 7, 2021.
- If you need to meet with a teacher, please set up an appointment with that staff member.
- Meetings with administrative staff should be arranged through that office, i.e. assistant principals, counselors, or other members of the Dean leadership team.
Self Check
- Students, staff and visitors must screen daily (prior to entering a school bus or school) for symptoms of COVID-19. If symptoms are experienced, individuals must not report to school or work until evaluated by a licensed healthcare provider.
- Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Loss of taste/smell
- Nasal congestion
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Fever at or above 100°F
- Vomiting/diarrhea
LTE 1:1
- CFISD has committed to providing a take-home device, a Chromebook, for every CFISD student to support learning, both face-to-face and online. The links below will provide important information for the LTE 1:1 Learning Together Everywhere program.
- CFISD requires all parents to complete a “Parent Acknowledge Form” in order for your child to have a Chromebook. These forms may be found in SchoolCash Online. You DON’T have to pay for the Chromebook, but you do have to complete the form through SchoolCash. Please click the links below for more information.

Student Dress Code
• Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh, no midriffs, spaghetti straps, or sleeveless shirts.
• If you are wearing tights/Yoga pants, they should be covered up to mid-thigh.
• No hats, hoodies, or any covering on your head. No bandanas.
• Clothing should not reveal undergarments.
• Clothing should not promote or advertise items that are prohibited at school—alcohol, drugs, weapons, or inappropriate language.
