January Newsletter

What a sweet surprise to wake up to falling snow! Although I was excited to return to school another day at home was an unexpected gift. I hope that each of you were able to spend time with the people who are most important to you. My college age students were home for a visit and my 10 year old was over the moon with excitement. We had the opportunity to make a New Year's ski trip to Hoodoo. It was so cold and windy that we only skiied for a little while one day and the next day the lifts were shut down. Needless to say we played lots of games and ate lots of food.

I look forward to January and the coming events. Stay warm and make sure to send your children to school in clothes appropriate for the cold weather.

Happy New Year!

IMPORTANT! Drop off and Pick up routines

The end of the day has become more and more difficult and busy. Our secretaries manage bus dismissal, take notes to teachers, receive phone calls, attend to the health room needs etc. "How can I help?" you ask. There is a new system in place as of this week that we think will help significantly:

I you know that you need to change the way your child goes home (ie. leave early, parent pickup instead of bus, medical/dental appointment etc.) please contact the office BEFORE 2:30. This way we can be sure that your students receive notes on time and that there is no confusion about how to get home.

As of this week we can not guarantee that non-emergency notes will be delivered after 2:30.

Please REMEMBER that there is no one available to supervise your child before 8:10 in the morning. Please drop off your child after 8:10 to assure their safety.

Thank you for your help.
