Northwood News

The 411 from 700 Gulf Road

April 27th to May 1st

Happy Tuesday. This starts the third week of the fourth quarter. It is now official according to Governor DeWine, we will not be going back in the building this year. That doesn't mean that school is over, it just means that we are learning somewhere else. This is not the way we wanted to say goodbye to 700 Gulf Road or to our retiring teachers. More information on the closing of Northwood to come later.

If at any time you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to myself or Mr. Grossman. We understand that these can be difficult times and are here to help in anyway needed.

Curriculum Calendars

By now, everyone should have received a curriculum calendar or been able to access it online. Please refer to the office hours down below in case you need to reach out to teachers.

If you would like a hard copy of the curriculum, we still have some available. Please swing by Northwood on Tuesday or Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45. Do not come after 10:45 as we will be starting to line up for food pickup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be a locker clean out?

Absolutely. We will do this more towards late May or Early jun. We are hoping to combine many things into one day. Each grade level will get their own day and it will be an all day affair. Students will come into the building 5 at a time, social distancing of course. They will clean out their locker, pick up their yearbook if they ordered one, clean out any gym locker or pick up an art project, and maybe get their picture taken.

Is Safety town happening?

At this time we do not know. Other cities have canceled their safety town programs and as you know Parks and Rec has been downsized to the virus. When we know, you will know.

I filled out the form for computer but didn't hear anything back. What do I do?

Unfortunately I can't answer that. The company is working with Elyria City schools but we do not have any influence over them.I do know that today we are helping them give out over 225 computers. If you have any questions please contact them at at or by calling 216-777-4441.

Expanded Food Service Hours

Aramark Food Service and Elyria Schools are providing free meals to all children 18 years and younger on Tuesdays and Thursdays according to the schedule listed here:
