Veterans Day Activities

We will be honoring our Veterans this week at EGMS! Here is our plan:

  • Veteran Honor Board- Students can bring small notecards honoring veterans in their own lives and pin them up on the bulletin board
  • Students will have the opportunity to thank a veteran over the microphone at lunch all week
  • Students will wear red, white and blue on Wednesday in honor of veterans day

EGMS thanks each and every veteran for their commitment and service to our nation.

Glove and Beanie Drive

We will be doing a glove and beanie drive at EGMS the next two weeks before the Thanksgiving break! Please bring new gloves and beanies, with tags to the office where we will have a drop off bin. FAN will distribute these much needed items to people in our community. Thank you for your support!

GOAL: 100 pairs of gloves and 100 beanies! I know we can do this Huskies!

Student Improvement Time

Didn’t like what you heard at conferences? Do you ask every evening, “Do you have any homework?” And get the same answer, “No”.

Try setting up a student improvement time for your child(ren) each evening.

  • Set a regular student improvement time each school night.

    • 45 - 60 minutes.

    • Same time as much as possible - build a habit.

    • Kitchen table or other area where they can be supervised.

    • Phone off. Tv off.

  • Activities for student improvement time:

    • Complete homework due the next day.

    • Review notes.

    • Study for tests.

    • Re do assignments for a higher grade.

    • Start projects due in a couple weeks.

    • Organize binder and backpack.

    • Read

  • At the end of the day ask your student, “What will you do with your student improvement time tonight?” Don’t ask, “Do you have any homework?”

Have questions about student improvement time? Contact your child’s counselor!
