A Great Content Area Course for New Teachers
In this hands on course we will be exploring Readers' and Writers' Workshop and examining ways to integrate iPads in the teaching and learning. The course will focus on the teachings of Lucy Calkins, Richard Allington, Isabel Beck, Stephanie Harvey and Anne Goudvis. We'll look at leveraging the power of the iPad for sharing digital reading materials with students, annotating digital text, creating eBooks, paper slide videos and many more online resources. The work is grounded in the Common Core ELA Frameworks for Massachusetts and delves deeply into the technology requirements found within Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
Harnessing the Power of Cross Content Apps:
Notability
A notetaking app that allows for typing, handwriting, annotating, audio recording and much more!
Google Drive
A cloud storage solution that features collaborative documents- great for group research and fostering home-school connections.
Explain Everything
This screencasting app puts students in the director's chair- allowing them to design slides that showcase the depth of their understanding and using that to teach others.
Take your digital learning to new levels.
