All 11th graders will take the SAT on March 2!
SAT exam Day - March 2!
March 2, 2022 is designated as Indiana’s SAT Day. The SAT is the new accountability measure for all Indiana schools. The SAT is now a mandated test for all 11th grade students in the state of Indiana. As a result, Chesterton High School will be providing the SAT test free of charge to all 11th grade students.
In addition, all 10th grade students will be taking the ASVAB Career Exploration assessment at CHS. The ASVAB Career Exploration program in schools is a modified test administered to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students for career exploration. The ASVAB test results are sent to schools so participants can explore career options with counselors and teachers that would align with the students Grad Pathway. The scores report how the student performed on each subtest area, and how their scores compare with others who took the test. Participants receive three composite scores in verbal, math and science/technical skills used for career exploration, and the AFQT score is also reported.
All 9th grade and 12th grade students will participate in elearning activities on March 2. Below is a schedule for all CHS students on March 2.
9th grade and select group of 10th graders: elearning at home
All 9th grade students will be registering with Ivy Tech DualEnroll to get ready for dual credit opportunities they will have during their high school career at CHS. Students who do or have registered with Ivy Tech DualEnroll will be able to take their Knowledge Assessment activity that will ensure that they are qualified for all dual credit opportunities at Chesterton High School. All Ivy Tech Dual Credit classes are free to all CHS students. Please click on the links below for instructions on how to register for Ivy Tech DualEnroll. We do encourage all 9th grade students to enroll with Ivy Tech DualEnroll prior to March 2 so they can complete the Knowledge Assessment portion of this process.
Naviance Activity: Career Interest Inventory
10th grade: Select group of students / ASVAB testing at CHS
11th grade: SAT testing at CHS
12th grade: elearning at home
12th grade students will be conducting an elearning day. Students will be able to go on college visits (both in-person and virtual), participate in community service opportunities, complete scholarships, work at their internship location (for those who have them), or job shadow for a potential career path.
CHS is proud to provide these opportunities for our students on March 2, 2022. If you have questions please contact CHS at 219-983-3730.
CHS Family Theatre presents "The Stinky Cheese Man"!
While it may be true that you have heard of classic fairy tales, the Chesterton High School Family Theatre can guarantee you have never heard of them like this before.
CHS is proud to present the 22nd annual Family Theatre Production The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. The performance is based on the book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, and was adapted into a stage production by John Glore. It is a humorous, satirical spin on your favorite fairy tales! Some of the stories include Cinderumpelstiltskin, the Princess and The Bowling Ball, and of course the story of The Stinky Cheese Man.
Every story is specifically designed to bring laughter and joyous memories to the entire family. We hope you and your family will come and join us on this incredible adventure through these fairly stupid tales!
Show times are Wednesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 3 at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 6 at 2:00 pm.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors and can be purchased online at our.show/stinkycheeseman or at the door.
