EPRO8 Finals in Morrinsville

On Wednesday our Year 7/8 team (70% Vegan) Gaebriel Gamble, Alexis Broekhals, Imogen Clewlow and Rico Smith went to Morrinsville Intermediate to compete in the Epro8 finals against other schools in the district. They showed resilliance and determination as they created a painting machine, and came away with 2nd equal. This is a fantastic result. We are so very proud of you all.

Our Year 5/6 team (Bob the Builders) Ariana Parker, Enzo de Guzman, Jackson Smith and Jayden Stockley participated on Thursday morning at the same venue. This was an exciting learning experience for this team who were given the challenge of getting a balloon through a netball hoop they had created.

Well done to everyone and a big thank you to Mrs Harrison for her support and mentoring of these groups. We love the 'Can do' attitude. Check out the video below.

Rippa Rugby Qualifying Tournament 2021 at Boyd park

On Wednesday two Year 5/6 and two Year 7/8 teams ventured across to Boyd Park with Mr Byers and Mrs Kewell to take part in the 2021 Rippa Rugby Thames Valley Qualifying Tournament. Congratulations to our Year 5/6 Steamers team on being the overall winners of the Year 5/6 division. Our Year 5/6 Sharks team narrowly missed out on the top 4, finishing 5th overall. In the Year 7/8 competition, our Year 7/8 Stags team came third overall. Both the Steamers and the Stags teams will now take part in the Thames Valley Championship to be played in Paeroa on the 23rd of June. All of our teams had wonderful attitudes and showed determination as they battled the elements on a wet and windy Te Aroha day. Thanks to Henare McLaren, Stan Knight, Dave Wood, and Laura Stewart for their assistance and to all our wonderful supporters on the day.

Farewell Miss Romeyn

Today we farewell Miss Romeyn from Room 11 and wish her Good Luck for the impending arrival of her baby girl. Miss Romeyn has been at Stanley Avenue since 2017 and in recent years in Room 11 with MrsTrebes. We are not sure if MrsTrebes will be able to keep up the wonderfully STRAIGHT Art displays in Room 11, but we are sure Miss Romeyn will come in and check occasionally. Check out the drawings and comments about Miss Romeyn from some of her current students.

Rotary Dictionaries for Year 4 Students

On Wednesday, Mr Tait-Jamieson, Mr Smyth and Mr Russell from Te Aroha Rotary came along and presented each of our Year 4 Students their very own Usborne illustrated Dictionary. This is a wonderful initiative by Rotary and we always look forward to their visit. Thank you Te Aroha Rotary.
